Re: ACC Championship Game....

I think the ACC attendance problem is two fold. First being that I believe people would show up if there were 2 relevent teams that were top 5 like the Big 12 and SEC had, and then secondly, most ACC schools are quite a bit smaller in enrollment and at least a 3rd of the schools are private schools so they dont have the fan bases that the more traditional SEC schools have. I dont think location is really that big of a deal. I'd much rather go to Tampa than Charlotte this time of year and a airlines ticket there can be had for next to nothing. The biggest issue is all the teams are average teams and fans that arent fans of the school(just wanting to see good football) arent going to waste their money going to see two sorry ass teams like VT and BC.

We wouldnt be thrilled to be 25th. It is however better than the way this season turned out. Tenn fans like most SEC fans want to win THE conference, and be in the NC talk. Your darn right I'd take 25th and a bowl now. But not thrilled, TN will be thrilled the next time we win the SEC. Winning the SEC means you've beat the best, just ask Ohio State.
That will be years down the road, IF it ever happens again.

When did UT win 6????
The list below is from CBS sports and it only shows them winning titles in 1951 and 1998. Unless you're going back to the 1800s I don't see 6 titles.
Plus you (AND ALL TENNESSEE FANS) need to quit living in the past. Look at Army, Harvard Princeton , Yale. They won titles ing the late 1800s/early 1900s....does that mean anything now? NOPE! Just like VT was crappy 15 -20 years ago doesn't mean anything now. Grow up and quit living in the past and just admit that VT is a better program these days than UT.
You've only been to 2 BCS games (usually 2 SEC teams go)over an eleven year period....too bad they don't have the peach bowl or the citrus bowl anymore.

Re: ACC Championship Game....

They have 2.

For the genius who claimed that the ACC would be a better football conference than the SEC in two years and said something along the lines of they were like the third best now, the success of programs are based on several things. The first of which is not a 10 year period of marginal success with nothing to show for it. UT has the advantage in history and tradition, success, facilities, successful players in pro sports, titles (national and conference), national perception, successful coaches, wins, bowl wins, even conference affilitaion, ect. Notre Dame is absolute garbage right now, it's 10x's the program that VT is. UT's team was a train wreck this year, they're still 10x's the program VT is. If VT and UT played this year, it would have been an ugly as hell 6-3 game that VT probably would have won, UT is still 10x's the program. If UT goes 75 years with the same sort of 75 years that Army, Harvard, Princeton, Yale have had they'll slip to that. 5-10 "down" years where they still had multiple 10 win seasons isn't going to get that accomplished though.

When did UT win 6????

You shouldn't have told them that. Seems like some of them think they win it every year.

Some say 6, some say 4. It's 2. You don't say you have one just because Bass Masters or who ever claims you're the NC.
